Where are the non R2 Adapter Samples?

with 5 comments

I got stuck with the complexities of the awful NativeSQL schemas when working with the Oracle ODBC adapter and i thought i had got lucky when i saw a PollingQuery sample but on closer examination of the binding files etc it was clear that the WCF LOB adapter was being used. Very disappointing. I had a good hunt around the net. Theres a nice list here – Biztalk Adapter Pack Samples but they are all for R2. Am i the only one in the world not using R2? So where are the samples? Installing the SDK that comes with the ODBC adapter gives a pathetically insufficient 2 examples both dealing with sending data to Oracle and nothing else.

C’mon now.. where are they hiding? Does anyone know?

  4. Hi Suresh,

In terms of the samples, at least for the Oracle adapter, I am sure they are not the same. For instance if you look at the PollingQuery sample, the schemas generated by the for the sql query are completely different from anything in the normal Oracle ODBC adapter. The schemas in the WCF version are simpler to handle. I had a look in the binding files as well and was able to see the WCF transport settings.

Btw, the link in the second comment didnt work, but i found the other links to the adapter samples. They all take me back to the same downloads page for the adapter pack samples. There is a set of Oracle only samples which i was using and the PollingQuery WCF sample is in that pack.

  5. santoshbenjamin, I have the exact same frustrations I cannot find a simple polling example anywhere that seems to work without first passing in a message. Did you find any non R2 examples ???
